Line Drawing of Widgeon Grass

Widgeon grass is not a true seagrass. It is a freshwater plant with a high salinity tolerance. It is an extremely important food source for waterfowl. Widgeon grass is often confused with shoal grass in low salinity estuaries. Widgeon grass leaves are expanded at the baseand arise alternately from the sheath and taper to long pointed tips.
